The concentration of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases with aging. As a result, the ability to retain water and elasticity is reduced, leading to a progressive tendency to develop wrinkles and sagging. 80% of facial skin aging is due to sun exposure. Constant sun exposure directly contributes to the decrease of hyaluronic acid in our skin. Hence the importance of deep skin hydration with hyaluronic acid.
Intracellular hyaluronic acid injections absorb water in the extracellular matrix, resulting in dermal hydration, improving skin surface and fine wrinkles. Some published studies also show that certain skinboosters additionally promote collagen synthesis, resulting in more radiant and elastic skin.

WHAT ARE THE USES OF A SKINBOOSTER IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE?
A skinbooster is indicated for all degrees of skin ageing as long as an improvement in the quality and structure of the skin is sought. The areas to be treated include the face, hands, neck and décolleté.
HOW IS A SKINBOOSTER APPLIED?
The application of a skinbooster is a safe and standardised process. The product is applied subcutaneously, more specifically in the deep dermis and subcutis, a fundamental aspect that differentiates it from conventional mesotherapy. Normally the application is performed with a blunt cannula that allows us to treat the entire surface with very few entry points and minimise possible bruising.
WHEN DO THE EFFECTS START TO BECOME EVIDENT?
The effect of the treatment becomes evident 72 hours after application as the skin begins to retain water. The effect becomes more pronounced as the treatment progresses. Generally and depending on the product chosen, the duration can vary between 9 and 12 months.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
The side effects that may appear are generally harmless and derived from the procedure itself (pain in the puncture area, redness, minimal bruising).
