Microneedling or Microdermabrasion
Are you looking to remove wrinkles, scars, or stretch marks? If you are from Jalón or nearby municipalities such as Moraira,
Calpe, Benissa, or Teulada, visit our clinic and enjoy our treatment.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a relatively modern treatment
Improves scars,
fine wrinkles, and stretch marks
. . . .
Microneedling is the new beauty obsession of celebrities as it improves scars, fine wrinkles, stretch marks… Additionally, it stimulates collagen production and allows for greater penetration of active ingredients. Its benefits are endless!
Its mechanism is based on the temporary alteration of the skin’s mechanical barrier through the formation of microchannels (micropunctures) that significantly increase the transdermal delivery of active ingredients. At our clinic in Jalón, these microchannels are created using an electrical device that allows us to control the number and depth of the micropunctures, ensuring minimal epidermal damage.
Sessions
3-4 sessions per year are recommended

WHAT ARE THE USES OF MICRONEEDLING IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE?
Photoageing
Photoageing is characterised by the appearance of skin alterations in the form of pigmentary changes, wrinkles, vascular malformations and changes in skin texture. Microneedling associated with different active ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol or non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid has been shown to significantly improve the signs of photoaging.
Melasma
Melasma is an acquired, chronic, recurrent and symmetrical hypermelanosis characterised by circumscribed, light to dark brown and occasionally greyish patches in sun-exposed areas. Triggers may include genetic and hormonal influences and exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Microneedling in combination with both topical tranexamic acid and conventional topical drug therapy significantly improves the appearance of melasma.
Atrophic scars
Atrophic scars are lesions with a sunken appearance in relation to the surrounding skin due to scarce scar tissue (acne scars). Microneedling has been shown to increase the synthesis of collagen I, III and IV in combination with topical therapies with glycolic acid or TCA solutions with a consequent improvement in the appearance of these lesions.
Androgenic alopecia
Androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of alopecia in men. Different genetic and inflammatory factors and susceptibility to circulating androgens are involved in its mechanism. Around 40% of patients under pharmacological treatment will continue to develop alopecia. Microneedling associated with topical therapy with dutasteride and minoxidil significantly improves alopecia even in patients who are poor responders to oral treatment.
How is
microneedling applied?
. . . .
Microneedling is an outpatient, minimally invasive, quick, and safe treatment. A topical anesthetic cream can be applied prior to the procedure based on the patient’s preferences. Sessions usually last between 15 and 20 minutes. After the procedure, a soothing mask, which often contains vitamins, zinc, hyaluronic acid, or peptides, will be applied to help calm the skin and promote immediate healing.
Does it have
side effects?
. . . .
At the end of the session, it is normal for the treated area to be red, a reaction that usually lasts between 2 and 6 hours. Occasionally, small bruises may appear, which are not of major concern. It is advisable to avoid sun exposure and protect the treated area with high sunscreen.
